Craigslist Cup Rally
This rally is for Wanderwell Members only. So join us already!
Ever wanted to do a Top Gear-style challenge in a cheap car? Do you like Type-2 Fun? Do you know how to patch a radiator hose with bubble gum and guano?
Well we have the event for you! Join us for our biggest event of the year, where we go destroy some cars in the desert and have fun along the way.
We're keeping the details a secret until you arrive, but here's the gist:
Step 1 - Create a team from one (you lone wolf) up to four people.
Step 2 - Buy a car for less than the Police Auction maximum ($3625).
(Here's a list of all LA impound auctions, and you know where Craigslist and Marketplace are)
Step 3 - Meet us in the desert for a series of surprise challenges and tasks over the weekend from the 28th-30th.
Step 4 - Party at the hotel!
You don't need an offroad car or anything special. Just cheap, cheerful, and disposable.
You will sweat, swear, and most likely curse our mothers, but you will remember this forever.
The full (and ever-changing) rules can be found here:
THE RULES
Hotels and meals are not included in the ticket price, but we'll keep those reasonably cheap. After all, it's Palm Springs in August. Hotel block details will be shared with those who sign up.
Each team member will need to sign up here individually
The Basics: Brake Bleeding
Learn how to check your brake fluid, bleed the system, and perform a full brake fluid flush at this month's Wanderwell Basics class. You'll learn everything there is to know about your brake fluid.
This hands-on class will include expert instructors and a live demonstration as we go step-by-step through the process. Even if you've never changed a tire, we'll show you how to do this job with confidence.
Craigslist Cup Safety Inspection
***MANDATORY FOR ALL TEAMS*** Bring your Craigslist car in for a safety inspection to make sure you're not going to die during the rally.
One member of the team must be present with the car to make excuses and plead with the judges.
Failure to get a safety sign-off will result in disqualification and being un-invited to the rally.
