WHO WE ARE

Not a shop. Not a class.
A place to figure it out together.

From cars to bird houses — if you're building, fixing, or just figuring it out, you belong here. Wanderwell is a community workshop and social club in Los Angeles built around one simple idea: wrenching is better with other people around to help out.

  • This is so much more than a DYI garage, it's a huge community of awesome people. Cars, motorcycles, bicycles, art, food, camping, driving, friendship, fun, help, community... this place has it all.

Built by a community, not a founder

Made for people who are still learning

Wanderwell isn't the story of one person with a vision. It's what happens when enough people who care about the same things end up in the same place. We pool knowledge, tools, and time. We show up for each other's projects. When something goes sideways on a build — and it always does — there's usually someone nearby who's already made that exact mistake. Community makes everything better.

The intimidating part of working on any project isn't the work itself — it's not knowing where to go for help. At Wanderwell, the whole point is that you can ask. You can watch. You can try something, have it not work, and try again with a lift and decent lighting and someone standing nearby who's glad you're here.

“This group is all about doing, learning, breaking down the intimidation of trying new tools, and experiencing the joy and pain of wrenching as a collective.”

WHAT WE STAND FOR

Show your work

Teach what you know

Respect the space

The best thing you can do is wrench on something in front of other people. Ask out loud. Make the mistake in public. That's how the whole community gets better.

Everyone here knows something the person next to them doesn't. The culture works when people share freely — not to show off, but because it's how experience has always traveled.

The lifts, the tools, the lounge — they belong to everyone. Leave things better than you found them. Help a stranger with their car before yours if that's what the moment calls for.
